- 2000 - 2002 Master in Management and Conservation of Natural Resources, at Michoacana of San
Nicolas of Hidalgo University, Mexico. (Master-Thesis: „Environmental Fluctuations of the
Patzcuaro Lake in the Quaternary and its relation with the Vulcan-Tectonic Evolution“).
- 2004 - 2009 PhD at the BGBM. Thesis: „ Diatom Community Analysis and Quality Assessment of the Polluted Tropical Lerma River (Mexico)”.
- Since
2010 Postdoc at the BGBM

- Changes in the biodiversity of freshwater diatoms.
