Immersaria cupreoatra (Nyl.) Calatayud & Rambold - Very similar in colour to Miriquidica deusta, from which it differs because its thallus is a fissured crust, neatly divided in edgy areoles of which the sides correspond with those of adjacent areoles. In M. deusta the areoles develop individually, are scattered near the margin and keep crenulate margins when densely aggregated; its apothecia are may be brown and immersed like in Immersaria, but often assume a black tinge and become raised with a distinct margin. TLC: 1. depsides, in part the same as in I. athroocarpa; 2.  probably gyrophoric acid (Nr. 54559); this seems to be the typical chemistry of the species. The substances of chemotype 1 seem to disagree with those in I. mehadiana strain 2.
