Curriculum:- 1991-1997 Diploma in Biology at Martin Luther University, Halle (Der Efeu, Hedera helix L. (Araliaceae), als Teil der naturnahen Vegetation, seine Lebensgeschichte und Verbreitung, Beitraege zur Oekologie und zu Naturschutzproblemen).
- 2000-2004 PhD at the Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) Gatersleben (Phylogeography of the Pulsatilla alpina species complex, Ranunculaceae).
- 2004-2005 Postdoc at Baylor University Waco/US and Kent State University Kent/US.
- Since 2005 Postdoc at the BGBM.

- DNA banking and long-term DNA storage.
- DNA sequencing and DNA based plant identification.
- Molecular systematics and phylogeography of Pulsatilla (Ranunculaceae).
- Pollen allergen gene evolution in Juniperus.
