Curriculum:
Born 1957. University studies in Munich (Diploma 1984, PhD 1990). 1990-2005 Curator, since 2005 Senior Curator, at the Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin-Dahlem, Free University of Berlin.


Committee memberships:

  • OPTIMA Commission „Mediterranean herbaria“, member since 2006.


Research interests:

  • Taxonomy and biogeography of Compositae in the Mediterranean (particularly Anthemideae).
  • Plant biodiversity of Morocco. Current: Contributions to BIOGEO-project (based at the Botanical Institute of the University of Sevilla/Spain. Accounts in preparation: Compositae (Aster, Tripolium, Galatella, Symphiotrichum, Erigeron, Bellis, Nolletia, Solidago, Anthemis, Cota, Chamaemelum, Matricaria, Tripleurospermum, Cladanthus, Anvillea, Anacyclus, Otanthus, Tanacetum, Otospernum, Leucanthemum, Prolongoa, Hymenostemma, Glossopappus, Daveaua, Coleostephus, Plagius, Castrilanthemum, Mauranthemum, Rhodanthemum, Glebionis, Heteranthemis, Cotula, Aaronsohnia, Soliva.   • Cytological investigations in phanerogams, particularly NW Africa.
