[Poster]

The karyological information on the vascular plants of Germany was compiled at the Botanical Institute of the University of Münster (Albers and collaborators) and is the content of the karlS database. The data in karlS exceed by far the information present in the atlas of chromosomes (Albers, in Wisskirchen & Haeupler 1998). In addition to the usual information, karIS contains data on DNA-content, chromosome measures, karyotypes, karyogrammes, references to herbarium specimens, quotations from literature, and information on the collection site. The latter are projected onto the topographical map from Haeupler und Schönfelder (1988). A link leads to a genetic database containing current information on the species.
